Cricket Communications to Give Landscaping TLC to the
YWCA’s TLC House for Homeless Women Veterans
ALBUQUERQUE, NM – A team of employees from Cricket Communications, Inc. through their involvement in Rebuilding Together Albuquerque, will be making much needed landscaping improvements to the YWCA’s Transitional Living Center (TLC House) for Homeless Women Veterans on October 26-28, 2010 from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
The TLC House will get a much-needed facelift thanks to Cricket, who will clear existing weeds and other debris in order to prepare the site for new landscaping in the spring which will include fruit trees, raised organic garden beds, and drought resistant plants.
“The generous donation by Cricket volunteers is invaluable to us,” remarked Carolyn Margolies, President & CEO of the YWCA Middle Rio Grande. “As a non-profit organization, every penny that we save by having volunteers perform much needed work, can go to our programs and services to serve those in need. In this case, this is an important phase in the overall improvement of the landscaping which will help create a calm, relaxing and restorative retreat for the women veterans and their children during their stay at TLC.”
For the second year in a row, Cricket is one of the top sponsors of Rebuilding Together, a leading, national, non-profit organization dedicated to bringing volunteers and communities together to revitalize communities across the country. Cricket’s main goal is to rehabilitate and revitalize homes, schools or community centers for residents living in the communities in which the company operates. The wireless company and its partners are dedicated to ensuring the rehabilitation of this neighborhood through the preservation and revitalization of all homes and public space currently in the area.
